third week in nyc, first week of nyc tf

After a very long week of very long days and very long commutes I can relax...for a little bit :)

Training has begun and I am glad to say that I am alive. Here's a rundown of what a long training day looks like:
7:15am wake up (if I'm lucky)
8:00am leave for the 6 train
9:00am-12:00pm class: Teaching Science in Middle and Secondary School
12:00-1:00pm lunch and maybe some frisbee
1:00-4:00pm class: Psychological Foundations of Education
4:30-6:30pm nyc tf Pre-Service Training
7:30pm home (if I'm lucky) followed by some reading and writing

My schedule will shift once I begin field training in July, but I'll still start and end at the same time.

The past week I've had the pleasure of meeting very bright and compassionate teachers to be; I'm in good company in the nyc tf. I'm having fun getting to know my fellow fellows; nothing brings people together like a well deserved drink and a shopping spree. It feels great to be part of a hopeful and optimistic group of people who are dedicated to providing a valid education to youth that don't have access to one.

The remaining weeks of training are going to be busy, tiring and challenging, but I truly feel that I am working towards something worthwhile. Don't worry so much Momma and Daddy I am happy here in New York and in the Teaching Fellows.

Kristine! I stumbled upon your blog and I absolutely love it! NY is my lover. Haha! I hope to go again for my birthday and maybe we can meet up? I'm going to do it so big there, it's going to blow us Californians away!

I hope. Miss you!
