long distance relationships

No offense to momma and daddy, but the toughest part of moving to New York has been adjusting to life without the support of my life long friends.

Sure, I went through my growing pains of leaving home, but the 6 hour drive from the Bay to So Cal weaned me off seeing my wonderful family on the reg.

Lately I've questioned how to maintain long distance relationships with my most loved friends. With time zone differences, long work days, busy weekends and the many demands of life it's downright difficult to schedule in a phone call or a video chat. Text messages, gchats, e-mail chains, and facebook posts are helpful in sharing the occasional inside joke or embarrassing photo of a roommate turned Korean drama actress. But, the aforementioned modes of communication cannot replace quality face to face time.

In the end, no matter how far apart we are, the friendships that withstand all these barriers are the ones that will last a lifetime. Now is our time to grow independently from one another and I understand that.

For the future, my dearest friends, I am asking a favor...can we all please settle within a 2 hour driving radius from each other? Let's all make our adult lives easier, please?
