the value of a simple call

I write this post in gratitude for my kick ass mentee, Leland. He called me today and we got to catch up after a couple weeks of unreturned phone calls (of course, teenage boys aren't so good at that stuff). It's always a blessing when we get to talk. I really owe a lot to him. If it weren't for Leland, I would never have continued my involvement in the ymp and quite possibly would never have discovered my passion for working with and for youth.

Needless to say, Leland's simple phone call made my day and reminded me of the importance of being a positive influence in a young person's life.

Look at that...Leland's small actions made a huge impact on me. Little things do make a big difference ;)
