introducing ms. arquero

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

I AM GOING TO BE A TEACHER IN THE BRONX!!! Isn't that amazing??? If only y'all could see the smile I have on my face as I type this :)

Don't be deceived, I haven't only been exploring the city since I arrived...I've been getting down to business. After a job fair, school visits, phone interviews, and demo lessons I have chosen a school to teach at come September.

How, you might ask? Well, if you know me at all you know how incredibly decisive I can be. I don't over analyze anything; I just make a choice and go with it! Oh k...so if you really know me you would have rolled your eyes while reading the previous statements :)

As with any other important decision I made thus far I enlisted the help of loved ones, I checked my heart to see how it felt about each school, and I prayed a lot. Ultimately I found a place where I feel I can truly grow as a teacher. It is the school that makes me feel most welcomed and most supported. In September I'll be teaching IB chem, chem, and tbd. I know that the job ahead of me is going to be challenging, really really really challenging. But, my heart is wholly in it :)

I'm nearing the end of my first two weeks in the city, which means that I will be starting training on Monday. I am excited to meet my cohort but less excited for training... In an effort to enjoy every bit of my free time I've been going to the city

I kinda like this place
