i feel it in my fingers...

Usually the holiday version of New York City brings out my Christmas cheer. This year the lights, trees, and 26 degree weather (that feels like 17 degrees) didn't do it for me. I totally sympathized with Charlie Brown and his holiday blues...until yesterday.

Thankfully, east coast weather finally paid off and brought ten inches of snow!!! My dear friend, Andrea, and I indulged the snow-deprived kids in us and spent the entire day in Central Park: snow angels, snow balls, cardboard sledding, and swinging in the snow. My favorite park in the world was transformed into a fantastic dream. The entire park was blanketed in beautiful white powder. Parents and their kids staked their claims to the best sledding spots. A saxophonist shared his talent on the Mall. Couples strolled gloved hand in gloved hand around Bethesda fountain. Sunday earned a spot as one of my top 5 experiences in Central Park.

I am finally prepared for Christmas. I'm anxiously awaiting my 6pm flight out of JFK to Long Beach on December 23rd. Get ready California, bring out the sun! Friends, let's gather for a long-awaited reunion! Family, I'm craving some home-cooked lovin!

I feel it in my toes, folks.
