"Kristine, [your student] has been shot." I received the news only two hours ago.
Thankfully he's in the hospital recovering. Thank God he was only shot in the foot; the incident involved another student (from a neighboring school) who was shot in the back and killed.
Right now I feel numb and just sad. I'm scared for my students and I'm in shock. The world can be so ugly...
My God, I pray for my student and I pray for better days to come.

Hi Kristine! It's Kat..I stumbled upon your blog from Rita's blog. Hope everything's okay with you! That is definitely super scary and sad..but I know you're strong and capable. I'll be in NYC this weekend with my b/f..hopefully we can meet up..but if not..I hope you're managing the cold okay! I'm not sure if I am! And it hasn't even snowed yet! Yikes! Take care =)
